As a Christian, who has taught history, economics etc, world affairs for nearly 50 years, and actually being a pastor(now retired) for 20 years, I admit that I have trouble with Jesus' call to pray for our enemies. So I have decided to list what I hope will work in this world of sin and veil of troubles. I have domestic and international enemies. So do many Americans who are Christians. Now, I am not going to write about how amoral, immoral secular liberal humanist socialist pacifists might pray. I am not in that camp. So here goes. Domestically, I pray that liberals will accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. This includes Democrats who may not have done so. I pray that all gangs of whatever race, ethnic group will do so. I pray that all Mosques will close and re-open as Christian churches as all become Christians. I pray that all politicians, all power brokers of all levels do the same;i.e. bankers, corporation leaders et al. I pray that our political leaders will protect our borders. I pray that all illegals will return home and go through a legal process to join this nation. I then pray that every law breaker, whether he or she accepts Christ, will fess up to their unlawfulness and pay the price. I pray that all churches that claim to be Christian actually be so or fold up. I pray that all of our just laws be enforced without fail and without appeal after appeal. I pray for a just Federal, state and local government that will protect civil liberties as well as production of means and distribution. Internationally, I pray that every Islamofascist nation, groups, be converted to Christianity. I pray that those who do not and still hate America, the West and Israel and / or the Judeo-Christian worldview will be destroyed. Period. I pray that pagan Europe go back to the Reformation ideals that helped them be No. 1 in the world. I pray that our military will destroy that evil that continues after conviction and conversion. And , and , and, if this does not happen(it will not) I pray that Jesus come back and set up his World Government. There. I have prayed for my enemies.
